It’s so weird how the ends of X-Men: Gold #30 and Rogue & Gambit #5 are like two sides of the same coin.
Like the reasons behind Kitty/Piotr calling off the wedding and Rogue/Gambit getting engaged to be engaged were virtually the same for both couples: “We’re just so damn messed up.”
The difference is Kitty’s reasoning was, “Maybe our relationship is just too messed up to work,” and Rogue’s was, “Our relationship is so messed up, but damn it, that’s just HOW it works and I don’t care. This is OUR mess and I’m not letting it go.”
Lord, it is so freaking bizarre that after all the crap they’ve been put through for so many years, Rogue and Gambit’s relationship seems like the stable one of the X-men books. I don’t know how this happened, but I’ll take it. lol
